Van Mossel Automotive Group publishes its 2025 Sustainability Report

Van Mossel Automotive Group is proud to present its 2025 Sustainability Report. The report provides transparency regarding our ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) strategy, the progress we have made, and our objectives to promote sustainability within our business operations and value chain. With this report, Van Mossel is taking another step towards full alignment with European regulations and the expectations of our stakeholders.

“Sustainability is a crucial issue for all of our futures. Caring for our planet and future generations is no longer a choice, but a necessity. Sustainability plays an essential role, particularly within a family business such as Van Mossel Automotive Group, where the next generation is actively involved. Through our sustainability policy, we are striving to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.”
— Eric Berkhof, CEO - Van Mossel Automotive Group

Key themes in the report

This year’s report shows that Van Mossel has made significant progress in several ESG areas. Below is an overview of the key themes and results:

  • Double Materiality Analysis (DMA):
Update of the DMA in accordance with the CSRD guidelines, which was carried out in 2024, due to international acquisitions in 2025. Relevant ESG themes have been revalidated and supplemented where necessary. These are linked to the relevant requirements of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
  • Energy analysis of our locations in the Netherlands:
We have achieved an A++++ energy rating for our head office in Waalwijk. Furthermore, the most common energy rating for our Dutch branches is A, and we have set ourselves the goal of ensuring that all our branches achieve at least an A rating.
  • Climate targets and emissions reporting:
We have established sub-targets for our climate goals to make them even more specific and actionable, so that we, as a group, can achieve climate neutrality for Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2040 (including through the use of biodiesel in our own transport fleet). In addition, we have taken further steps with our emissions reporting by calculating more Scope 1 and 2 data across the entire group, reporting on the first Scope 3 categories, and establishing a clear plan to collect and verify ESG data more efficiently. We have made our emissions measurable by comparing the same emissions categories from last year with the group’s annual turnover (in millions of euros).
  • Increase in the proportion of EVs:
Strong growth in electric vehicles within both the retail sector (new car sales) and the lease fleet, supported by customer advice and infrastructure provided by Van Mossel Energy.
  • Circularity initiatives:
Implementation of several circularity programmes, including tyre reuse, the ‘repair vs. replace’ strategy, and on-site waste separation.
  • EcoVadis Committed badge at Group level:
After receiving a ‘Bronze Medal’ for ICLH for three consecutive years, the entire Van Mossel Automotive Group has now also received the ‘Committed Badge’.
  • Green electricity:
For our locations in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, and the United Kingdom, we have purchased Guarantees of Origin (GoO) certificates covering electricity consumption in these countries. In this way, we have ensured that the electricity we purchase is generated in an ‘eco-friendly’ manner, for example through wind turbines or hydroelectric power stations.
  • Corporate Risk:
We have carried out a corporate risk analysis for 2025 to gain an understanding of the risks and identify specific control measures.

The full 2025 Sustainability Report is now available. We warmly invite all our stakeholders to read the report, reflect on our collective progress, and join us in shaping the future of sustainable mobility.
